Kind locals helped a tourist who collapsed from heat stroke in Bangkok as temperatures reached 36 degrees Celsius.

The couple were waiting in line for food when the woman suddenly staggered and collapsed on Banthat Thong Road on April 27.

This prompted nearby street vendors to immediately come to the holidaymaker's aid, while her partner carefully laid her down on the ground.

Footage shows a man in a white shirt rushing to the aid of the shaking woman, joined by another passing holidaymaker, while a bystander called for an ambulance.

Moments later, passing tourists and other residents can be seen helping by laying her on her side to stabilise her while they awaited the arrival of medical personnel.

Local reports stated that the woman affected by heatstroke was quickly taken to the hospital and is now recovering and in stable health.

The Department of Health has advised the public to be especially cautious, particularly those in vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, people with chronic illnesses, and outdoor workers.

April is usually the hottest month of the year in Thailand, with temperatures regularly hitting 36C before the onset of the annual monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October.
