QUANTICO, Va. — U.S. Marines and volunteers gathered May 3 at Marine Corps Base Quantico to participate in the Virginia Run for the Fallen, a tribute event honoring service members who died during the War on Terror.

Participants ran specific miles dedicated to each Virginia fallen service member, regardless of the circumstance in which they died while serving.

The event aimed to preserve the memory of those lost through active remembrance and community support. Runners carried names and stories along the route, symbolizing each hero’s enduring legacy.

The tribute was one of several held across the country to recognize and remember the sacrifices made by military families and their loved ones.
