Tornado Caught on Deputy’s Dash Cam in Colorado
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A Douglas County sheriff’s deputy captured dramatic dash cam footage of a tornado touching down in neighboring Elbert County on May 20, the agency said in a social media post.
Deputy Skalisky, who is also a trained paramedic, spotted the twister while driving to work. He immediately called the tornado into Douglas Regional 911 and began checking on residents in the area, assessing property damage and potential gas leaks.
The department praised Skalisky’s quick thinking and calm response during the severe weather event, calling it a demonstration of his commitment to public safety.
