Hundreds of visitors scrambled for limited rafts at a popular waterpark in China.

More than 300 holidaymakers were left frustrated after waiting in long queues to receive a limited number of rubber boats at a scenic lake in Qingyuan, Guangdong.

Footage shows a truck offloading stacks of colourful inflatable vessels down a slope, where a large crowd had gathered on May 2.

Vacationers wearing life vests and helmets rushed to grab rubber boats for the highly anticipated rafting activity at Huangteng Gorge, jostling to secure one.

Many, visibly disappointed, were unable to participate in the rafting experience and left the site in dismay.

A spokesman from the Huangtengxia Ecotourism Zone said: 'There were a lot of tourists that day, and many couldn't join the rafting due to long queues, leading to chaos in the area when the rafts were released. We have acknowledged the issue and implemented traffic control measures.'

The park has set a maximum daily capacity of 12,000 visitors, and officials said ticket sales will be immediately halted once that threshold is reached.

In response to the incident, the management announced a compensation plan for guests who failed to raft before 5 p.m. on the day of the event. A full refund will be issued to affected tourists, who will also have the option to receive a complimentary all-access pass valid for one year.

The Huangteng Gorge rafting course stretches 8 kilometres, featuring natural wonders such as waterfalls, deep pools, strange rock formations, and lush jungles. The winding river boasts a total drop of 398 metres, making it a sought-after destination for adventure seekers.
