Frightened bear claws at roadside barbed wire fence trying to return to forest
A frightened bear was seen desperately clawing at a roadside barbed wire fence as it tried to return to the forest.
Footage shows the wild brown bear searching for a way through the barrier, which had been installed to stop animals from reaching a road in Leningrad Oblast, Russia.
A passing driver spotted the animal struggling to find a path back to its habitat and followed it along the fence on June 24.
The concerned local contacted authorities for assistance as there were no gaps visible.
Wildlife officers arrived shortly after and helped track the bear, eventually guiding it safely back into the woods.
No injuries or damage were reported following the sighting.
