A pet dog and a rooster clashed over territory and refused to back down in a resident's garage.

Footage shows the pooch with its neck tied to a collar, baring its fangs to scare the cheeky bird away in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

The canine did not hurt the chicken, but growled at it while the chain restricted its movements.

Its opponent then tried to strike, flapping its wings, but carefully moved against the bigger animal without letting its guard down.

Pet owner Yonrada Chimpalee said: 'The chicken belongs to my neighbour. It comes here to fight with my dog. The house has three pooches, but it teases the one outside. They do this every day.

'At first I was annoyed when it pecked our pet in the fur, but now I think they are actually friends and they just like to do this whenever they meet.'
