Los Angeles, United States - May 19, 2025 05/19/2025 02:30 am GMT-0700 COVINA, Calif. – A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy from the Industry Station pursued a possible DUI suspect in La Puente. The suspect drove recklessly on surface streets at high speeds, prompting the sheriff's department to cancel the pursuit due to safety concerns. The LASD air unit was dispatched to track the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop in Covina. The suspect ran into a residence on the 800 block of North Garsden Avenue. To ensure the safety of the occupants, sheriff's deputies evacuated the family, as it was believed the suspect may have entered the home through a back door. The suspect was ultimately taken into custody by deputies. It remains unclear whether the individual lived at the residence or broke in while the family was asleep.
