US, Los Angeles: San Dimas Suspect Runs Onto 57 Freeway Killed by Car

Los Angeles, United States - July 15, 2025 07/14/2025 09:30 pm GMT-0700 SAN DIMAS, Calif. – Sheriff's deputies from the San Dimas station were pursuing a suspect on foot, who was possibly armed with a handgun, at the intersection of Arrow Highway and the 57 Freeway. The suspect fled onto the freeway, running across both the southbound and northbound lanes of the 57 Freeway at Arrow Highway. A deputy located the suspect lying in the southbound lanes of the freeway, just south of Arrow Highway. Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters attempted lifesaving measures, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters and paramedics. An SUV that struck the suspect, exited the freeway at Covina Boulevard, and is now cooperating with law enforcement officers. It is currently unknown if any weapon was recovered at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol are investigating the fatal incident. As of now, the CHP has closed all southbound lanes of the 57 Freeway at Arrow Highway.
