On May 4, an acrobat named Adili delivered a breathtaking high-wire performance in Puyang, Henan.
At the performance site, a 500-metre-long, 2.8 cm-thick steel wire was suspended 80 metres high between two towers. The wire was equipped with glowing LEDs, creating a dreamlike, light-beam atmosphere.
With a balancing pole in hand, Adili walked the wire as if treading on solid ground — appearing to walk on light — offering the audience a thrilling visual spectacle.
Dawaz, meaning "high-wire walking performance," has a history spanning over 2,000 years and is a treasured traditional acrobatic art of the Uyghur ethnic group. As the sixth-generation practitioner, Adili has shown unwavering passion and dedication to this craft since childhood. Through relentless effort and remarkable skill, he has broken several world records in high-wire walking and earned the title of "Prince of the Sky."
