A resident who attended a friend's funeral was shocked to find a homeless man sleeping in one of the graves.

Johder Yuboc accompanied his pal to check the final resting place of his departed aunt when they found the stranger dozed off inside in Cavite, the Philippines.

Footage shows a cemetery caretaker checking inside the hole and finding a person inside.

The middle-aged street dweller crawled out of the dark and narrow space.

Johder said: 'You can rest at another spot, brother.'

Aside from him, there were several others who settled in unoccupied areas nearby.

Many of the families living in cemeteries are among the country's poorest. They cannot afford even the most basic rental homes or shelters, especially in urban areas like Manila.
