Not crabby: floating crab appears to wave happily at scuba diver
A floating crab appeared to wave happily at a scuba diver.
Instructor Henry Overkämping had just jumped into the clear blue water off Baa Atoll, Maldives, when he came face to face with a friendly creature.
Adorable footage captured just metres in front of him showed a cheerful crab under the surface whose claws appeared to wave in Henry’s direction.
Henry, originally from Germany, said: “It honestly looked like the crab was welcoming me into the ocean. I really loved its happy eyes and waving movement of the crab.
“I have been a dive instructor for four years and have never seen this before. We usually only see the crabs on the reef not in the open ocean far away from land.
“I captured this moment right after jumping in from the boat while waiting for all the guests to enter the water, to film this crab.”
