A student in Singapore filmed as she rescue a black-naped orioles chick from a murder of crows relentlessly attacking it in footage that racked up 2.5 million views on TikTok.

She then took the injured baby bird home and helped nurse it back to full health with some food and water.

The filmer told Newsflare: "School just ended and I was walking to the bus stop and heard a lot of bird noises at the side of the road, and as an extreme animal lover I stopped to observe what was happening.

"I saw a bunch of crows flying after a little yellow bird. At first I thought they were having fun, but after a while I felt something was off. The little yellow bird was clinging onto a fence for dear life and the crows were swooping down on it, and out of the blue one of them picked it up and threw it onto the ground.

"Seeing that I instantly ran across the road hoping that I could save it but it my mind I thought I couldn't because the oriole might just fly away but to my surprise, it gladly JUMPED into my hands (because it’s life was on the line I guess).

"So I carried it home all the way from my school and it didn't move one inch, I think it knew I was trying to help it. After that I provided it with food water and somewhere to stay and placed it at the balcony as it is illegal to keep it in the house, and it eventually flew away after being in a much better state."
