A doctor in Nghe An, Vietnam, removed a 20-centimetre-long live leech from a patient's nose.

The man had come to clinic complaining of a pain in his nose after washing his face in a stream.

After the leech was pulled from his nose, the patient vowed never to was his face in a steam again.

The man came to the clinic with a pain in his nose. He said that after washing his face in the stream, he found an animal crawling into his nose. He felt pain and quickly moved to the clinic. He was surprised when the doctor removed the leech from his nasal tube. He said he would never wash his face in the stream again. The doctor said that leeches often appear in streams and rivers and they will quickly attach to the nose or mouth if people drink or wash their face in the stream. Fortunately, the leech did not crawl deep into the man's nose.
