Storyline: Chinese companies ramp up hiring as peak recruitment season kicks off [Voice_over] To provide 28,000 internship positions within three years, Chinese internet giant Tencent launched its largest-ever employment plan in April. [Sound_bite] Luo Haibo, Head, Global Recruitment, Tencent: "The development of large-scale models requires us to find more fresh talents. The unstable international situation and the adjustment of the domestic economic structure have put pressures on their employment. We need to shoulder our social responsibility." [Voice_over] Luo says the company will recruit 10,000 interns through campus recruitment in 2025, 60 percent in technical fields. Official data shows that the number of college graduates in China is likely to exceed 12 million this year, 430,000 more than last year. Facing the increase, companies are vowing to expand employment opportunities and intensify vocational skills training. To help mitigate the burden on businesses, the central government introduced a guideline on Monday aimed at improving the quality of public employment services and access to them. It covers issues such as employment information and career guidance. College graduates and other youths are valuable human resources. As external uncertainties persist, experts said greater efforts will be made to provide them with employment support, raise job quality and improve livelihoods.
