A ‘lucky’ mountain biker escaped with just a cut to his finger after a 30mph crash into a farm gate that snapped his £4,000 bike.

Lloyd Bennett, 14, and his dad Terry were riding the One Giant Leap track near Llangollen, North Wales, on January 25 when they came to a jump.

Crazy footage – viewed more than 29million times – shows Lloyd fly through the air and come crashing down on a farm gate causing it to swing open while he’s still hanging on it.

Incredibly despite hitting the metal at 30mph and snapping his bike axel, Lloyd only walked away with a small cut to one of his fingers.

Terry said: “Lloyd, or ‘Lucky’ as I call him now, only suffered a tiny cut to his finger. He would have been moving at about 30mph when he took off.

“The gate at the bike park is always open, but we were the first down the track that morning and the wind must have blown it closed.

“Lloyd was devastated to see his £4,000 x works GT professional bike snapped in half.”
