This is the shocking moment a police cruiser crashed while racing to the scene of a shooting in Ohio.

Dashcam footage shows the vehicle swerving through traffic on Weber Road in Columbus at around 5:50 pm on May 28.

Reports said the officers were en route to the intersection of Mecca and Agler roads, where two Mifflin Township officers had been shot during a traffic stop.

The authorities can be heard preparing a medical kit as they sped towards the scene with sirens blaring.

As they approached the Cleveland Avenue intersection, a blue Jeep turned left in front of them.

The video shows the car colliding with the Jeep and a utility pole before coming to rest on the sidewalk.

Both officers and the Jeep driver were uninjured. The driver was cited and released.

One of the injured Mifflin Township officers was discharged from the hospital the next day.

Police Chief David Briggs said the second officer underwent three surgeries and faces a lengthy recovery.

The suspect, Daveaonte Dixon, was later located in Obetz. He reportedly shot himself before being taken into custody and remains under police watch in the hospital.

Daveaonte faces charges of attempted murder and felonious assault.
