A motorcycle rider was injured by a falling tree in Thailand.

Amornrat Chotchawalrattanakul, 40, was coasting along the road when the 30ft tree toppled onto her two-wheeler in Bangkok on June 11.

She tumbled onto the pavement as she was struck by the branches, with the thick tree trunk narrowly missing her.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene after receiving a report at 9:32 pm local time. They found Amornrat with numerous neck, chest, arm, and torso injuries and rushed her to the Samitivej Thonburi Hospital for treatment.

Footage shows personnel using saws to clear the fallen tree from the road.

A rescue volunteer said: 'The tree blocked two lanes of traffic and caused heavy traffic congestion. The obstruction also delayed us from quickly transporting the victim to the hospital.'

Authorities said they were investigating the cause of the tree's collapse.
