This is the dramatic moment a brave pet owner saved his kitten from a python attack outside their home.

Jing Jo, the four-month-old tabby, was strolling in the backyard when the snake suddenly pounced from behind a tree in Samut Prakan, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the predator coiling itself around the helpless feline on June 15.

Upon hearing the kitten's cries for help, the resident rushed out and began striking the serpent with a pole, while a woman nearby screamed in fear.

Moments later, another man sprinted to assist, helping to pull Jing Jo free from the python's grip.

The rescuers can be seen repeatedly hitting the snake and pulling its tail to untangle the cat, while the lady joined in with two wooden sticks to help fend off the reptile.

The pet owner said: 'Jing Jo is safe and wasn't injured in the encounter. We're now keeping him indoors at night to avoid another incident like this.'
