On Tuesday, June 17 Air India flight from Mumbai to Lucknow was abandoned due to 'operational reasons'.

Air India passengers were left furious after their flight was deboarded amid crash fears.

According to footage shows angry travellers inside the plane after being told that their scheduled flight was cancelled.

Shamaila Fatima said My mother was travelling on Air India AI2491. The flight was scheduled to depart at 6:50 pm.

'She was deboarded after more than three hours. No meals were provided. She is a diabetic patient travelling alone. There was no sign of when the next flight would be available.'

the flight crew claimed the pilot was not available. The passengers when then deboarded and 'left stranded' for more than six hours.

Air India said the flight was cancelled due to weather delays affecting the number of hours staff are allowed to fly.

They said in a statement: 'AI2491 from Mumbai to Lucknow on 17 June 2025 was cancelled due to operational reasons and the cascading impact of flights which were diverted during the heavy rains in Delhi.

'Delayed arrival of diverted flights led to the operating crew coming under regulatory flight duty time limitations norms. Replacement crew could not be immediately arranged due to the weather-related delays and disruptions.'
