US: Stolen Car Chase Ends In Violent Crash As Pickup Truck Flips On Livingston Road
United States - June 12, 2025 The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office has released dramatic video footage of a high-speed chase involving a stolen grey sedan last Thursday in Fenton. The chase began on southbound US-23 near the White Lake Road exit. The stolen vehicle exited at M-59, bypassing cars stopped at a turn. The suspect later avoided spike strips near Argentine Road. That section of the pursuit was not captured on video. Video shows the driver speeding past more vehicles before turning onto Golf Club Road. The sedan then swiped an SUV, damaging its bumper. Moments later, it ran a stop sign at the intersection of Hughes Road and Golf Club Road. The stolen car slammed into a black pickup truck, flipping it over toward a guardrail. Police stopped the sedan and ordered the driver out at gunpoint. Officers then rushed to help the pickup driver. The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Jeremy Nelson of Ypsilanti, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Howell for evaluation. Afterward, he was booked into the Livingston County Jail. Nelson was arraigned on June 13, 2025. He faces charges of fleeing and eluding police and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle. He remains in jail on a $100,000 cash surety bond, along with a parole detainer from the Michigan Department of Corrections. The pickup truck driver was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor as a precaution. Police said he suffered no significant injuries.
