This is the shocking moment petunias appeared to come to life as they ‘kissed' a human finger.

Footage shows a plant lover extending her index finger toward the vine in her garden in Liaoning, China.

Moments later, the plant seemed to lower its bud to gently touch the woman's fingertip on May 6.

However, when the lady's friend tried, the plant was still and showed no response.

The pair shrieked in excitement, amazed by the petunia's unusual behaviour.

Thigmotropism or nastic movement is a natural phenomenon where plants react to touch or environmental stimuli. Some flowers and leaves can bend or move toward or away from objects as a survival mechanism or to maximise light exposure.
