On June 27 in Pu'er, Yunnan Province, an adult wild elephant, angered by firecrackers, broke through an iron gate and entered a local resident's home.

Initially, the elephant was temporarily driven away after villagers shone flashlights into its eyes. However, it soon returned—this time bringing along two other adult elephants and two calves—re-entering the residence.

Fortunately, no one was injured. The elephant group did not harm any people but caused widespread damage to household items and furniture.

Experts have issued a warning to the public: do not use firecrackers or other means to scare wild elephants, and never attempt to drive them away. In such situations, people should quickly seek shelter in a safe or sturdy building and immediately call emergency services.
