A bird that made its nest on a level crossing barrier was hoisted into the air every hour as trains passed by.

Tachatham Manichoti, along with other motorists waiting at the boom gate, noticed the Spotted Dove perched in its nest on the vertical metal pole in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

Footage shows the brown bird lounging calmly, unfazed by nearby riders and the noise of locomotives passing on May 29.

Moments later, the railway operator lifted the gate, raising the motionless dove as the barricade was lifted into the air.

Meanwhile, the group of motorcycle riders can be seen crossing the track before the bird returned to its unconventional nesting spot.
