This is the terrifying moment a crazed wild elephant rammed through a gate to break into a house in China.

The jumbo triggered light sensors and woke up the elderly resident, who was seen on CCTV emerging from the property in Pu Er, Yunnan province.

She began recording the beast on her phone, which seemed to enrage it even more. CCTV captured it charging at the gate, as the pensioner dashed inside to safety on June 27.

The gate collapsed under the force of the impact, scattering debris across the area.

The jungle behemoth then attempted to walk inside, but the homeowner quickly shone a bright light at the animal.

Blinded by the beam, the elephant backed away and briefly ambled out of the yard.

The pensioner cautiously returned with a flashlight to inspect the destroyed gate. But moments later, the elephant came back—this time bringing its herd along.

Three juvenile elephants and another adult, led by the matriarch, barged into the compound together. However, they eventually left after being flashed with the light a second time.

Elephants are the largest land mammals, known for their intelligence, powerful memory, and strong social bonds. A matriarch decides where the herd travels, finds food and water, and guides them through threats or obstacles.

In recent years, elephants have increasingly wandered into villages in search of food due to habitat loss and growing populations.

Encounters with these giants, sometimes causing property damage, have become more common, prompting authorities to remind residents to stay vigilant and avoid provoking the animals.
