Mr. Ma, the person involved, explained that he had purchased the kayak in 2023 for over 3,000 yuan, originally intending to use it for fishing. It had only been used once before. On July 3, with nothing else to do during the rain, he decided to take it out and paddle around with a friend. The kayak can carry about 300 jin (approximately 150 kg), which was sufficient for the level of flooding at the time.
