This is the shocking moment a family of seven was seen dangerously crammed onto a single motorcycle as they drove along a busy road in Thailand.

Dashcam footage shows the crowded two-wheeler coasting along the Samkong Underpass in Phuket on July 6.

The mother was seen riding pillion as she carried a child in each arm, with the youngsters just hovering over the tarmac.

More kids were squeezed near the handlebars as their father steered the overloaded bike through traffic.

None of the family were wearing helmets.

A furious motorist driving behind them said: 'This kind of dangerous driving must be exposed. It's good if nothing happens to them, but if they get into an accident, the parents have no right to complain.'

The family also further broke traffic laws by riding through an underpass where motorcycles were strictly prohibited.

Under Thai law, riding a motorcycle with more than one passenger carries a fine of up to 2,000 Baht (45 GBP).

Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, Thailand suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
