Customer banned from restaurant takes revenge by ramming car through front
A customer who had been banned from a restaurant took revenge by ramming his car through the front entrance in Peru.
Miguel Angel Requejo Astochado, 51, is under investigation for attempted murder, aggravated damage, and drink driving following the incident in the La Molina district of Lima on Wednesday night, July 2.
CCTV footage from inside the venue captures the moment a Lexus SUV smashed through the wall, knocking one man off his feet and ploughing another into tables and chairs.
The video then cuts to moments earlier, showing a fight that Astochado had started inside the restaurant before being thrown out.
Reports said the evening had been proceeding normally at El Charrua, a well-known high-end steakhouse, until Astochado became involved in a heated argument with other diners.
Witnesses claimed the suspect, allegedly intoxicated, exchanged words with at least three people before staff intervened and removed him to protect the safety of other guests.
In an apparent act of revenge, Astochado, identified as the manager of a family-owned steel company, returned in his luxury SUV.
Surveillance cameras captured the vehicle making high-speed manoeuvres before crashing into the restaurant's facade.
The impact damaged furnishings and struck multiple people, including one of those he had argued with earlier.
One of the victims said: 'He kept shouting that he was a magnate and as such could do whatever he wanted.'
Several people were treated at the scene for minor injuries, while one remains under observation at a local hospital.
Astochado reportedly holds a degree in mechanical engineering and a master's in business administration. In 2023, he had a criminal record for falsifying a psychological evaluation in an attempt to purchase a firearm.
He was arrested by the National Police after the restaurant incident, with officers saying he showed obvious signs of intoxication.
The investigation remains ongoing.
