ATLANTA — A young black bear in Georgia sparked more than 15 calls to the Wildlife Resources Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources last weekend after it was spotted wandering with a plastic pretzel container stuck on its head.

Responding quickly, a state biologist and wildlife technician were able to safely capture the bear, remove the container, and release it unharmed back into the wild. Officials say the bear was uninjured and appeared to be in good health following the unusual incident.

The department reminds residents to be #BearWise by securing trash and recycling bins, especially during summer months when bear activity is high.
