A double-decker bus had its roof torn off after crashing into a canal aqueduct on Barton Lane, Eccles, Greater Manchester, on Monday, 21 July 2025.

The number 100 bus was off its usual route when it hit the 3.5m-high bridge around 3pm.

Seventeen people were treated at the scene, with three seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The driver, a man in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and later bailed.
