KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - JULY 29: A Palestinian girl, Safaa Al-Agha, survived an Israeli airstrike that killed her entire family in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, southern Gaza, local sources confirmed Tuesday.
Four citizens were killed and others were injured from the Agha family when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced persons in the Mina area in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, according to WAFA news agency.
The attack, which struck their makeshift tent, killed her father Hamed Al-Agha, mother Sabreen Al-Agha, and young brother Mustafa Al-Agha. Safaa, the only survivor, sustained injuries to her hand and leg.
In a trembling voice, the child told Anadolu: "The Israelis wounded me and killed my whole family."
Since March 2, Israel has refused to extend a truce agreement with Hamas, blocking critical aid deliveries at Gaza’s crossings despite severe shortages of food, water, and medicine.
Gaza, under an 18-year Israeli blockade, now faces mass displacement, with 1.5 million out of 2.4 million residents left homeless due to relentless bombardment.
Israel’s military offensive, launched after October 7, 2023, has drawn global condemnation as mass casualties, starvation tactics, and systematic destruction continue. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered Israel to halt its assault, but attacks persist with U.S. political and military backing.
The death toll has surpassed 205,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, with over 9,000 missing under rubble. Famine now threatens the enclave as aid remains blocked.
