Los Angeles, United States - July 31, 2025 07/31/2025 01:00 am GMT-0700 BURBANK, Calif. – An early morning pursuit involving a stolen pickup truck ended in a crash in Burbank on Thursday, with the suspect still at large. Around 1:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department received a call from a man tracking his stolen vehicle. LAPD’s air unit located the truck, which had already been involved in a collision on the freeway, but continued driving despite significant damage. The pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed into a guardrail at the bottom of the Verdugo Avenue off-ramp from the southbound 5 Freeway. Before officers arrived, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into the surrounding area. The truck’s owner was at the scene and spoke with investigators. Officers from the LAPD, the California Highway Patrol, and the Burbank Police Department are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the auto theft and both collisions. As of Thursday morning, the suspect has not been located, and no arrests have been made.
