Around 12 p.m. on August 4th, a sudden tornado struck Xinsheng Village, Qianjin Village Committee, Wulanhada Sumu, Chayouhouqi, Ulaanqab, Inner Mongolia, due to severe convective weather.

According to eyewitnesses, the tornado resembled a giant dragon descending from the clouds to the ground. The yellow dust and white rain mist lifted by the wind blended into one, lasting for more than half an hour.

The tornado damaged eight yurts used for tourism by a local homestay owner, resulting in an estimated economic loss of over 600,000 yuan (approx. $82,000). Some power poles were knocked down, but electricity was restored within an hour thanks to rapid repairs by the power department.

Cleanup at the site is now complete, and no casualties were reported.
