School dog receives medal during recognition ceremony
This is the heartwarming moment a school dog received medals during a recognition ceremony.
Tuli, a beagle, was honoured with two medallions during the academic awards event in Rizal, the Philippines.
Footage captured by Maricel Aragon shows the four-year-old, well-behaved canine sitting calmly at the side of the stage on April 9.
Teacher Aisa, his owner, can be seen placing his achievement tokens around his neck before lifting him up in front of the cheering crowd.
Meanwhile, Teacher Maricel can be heard in the video introducing Tuli, saying: 'The school guard from morning until night, always the one who greets our visitors.'
Maricel said: 'Tuli is the dog of Teacher Maricel, but she gave him to Teacher Aisa because she was feeling lonely after her previous dog, also a beagle, passed away.
'Teacher Aisa brought Tuli to school, and he grew up there. He now guards the school day and night. Fortunately, Teacher Aisa's house is just a walking distance from the school.
'In every school activity, Tuli is always present—like a proud mascot on display. He is a friend to everyone.
'He has a condition called cherry eye, and once we save enough money, we plan to have his eyes operated on.'
