US, Los Angeles: Studio City Mail Theft Suspect Escapes After Violent Confrontation in Apartment Complex
Los Angeles, United States - August 06, 2025 08/05/2025 11:45 pm GMT-0700 STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Longridge Avenue following reports of a burglary in progress. Moments later, another call came from the same location reporting that a resident was holding a male suspect. However, the situation escalated when the suspect attacked the individual, who was later seen with visible blood on his arms while recounting the altercation. Residents say the same suspect has been seen multiple times in the area. A “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) flyer with the suspect’s photo was posted outside the building before the incident. The suspect fled the scene on a scooter and has not been caught. LAPD is actively investigating and searching for the individual. SOT ------ start with your name and spell it for us? Yeah. My name is Timothy Bremer and that's T-I-M-O-T-H-Y. Last name is B-R-E-H-M-E-R. Can you tell us what's going on? So the police try to do their jobs as best as they can, but not too long ago one of our mailmen was robbed of his mail key. And this guy's been hitting mailboxes, stealing all of our mail, and he's hit this apartment complex four times. So we decided to take a walk and I swear like the universe just part of the scene was like, "Here you go Tim, this is the guy that's been stealing from you." And we're like, "There's no way it's him. There's no way we're that lucky." He put on the exact same hat from the one apposer. He had that exact same dumb look on his face like, "Huh?" He then got on the exact same scooter and had the exact same duffel bag. And the cops were like, "Are you sure?" And I went, "10 out of 10. 10 out of 10." He looked like Sloth from the Goonies had a baby with Shrek and that's what this man looked like. Big receding hairline, 6'4", just, "I don't mean to do this." Well, make an example out of you. You push us long enough, we're going to make an example out of you. I wasn't going to duct tape him to the telephone pole, but the police were like, "No, that's the..." (...) And he assaulted you? Yes.(...) I popped out to film him to say, "Hey, he liked to rob us." And he tried to swat the phone away. I pepper sprayed him. And of course, he's big and ogre-like and it did nothing to him because I didn't have bear spray.(...) So he went to swing, missed, sprayed him again. He swung and missed. And then I was like, "All right, I'm going to unload it." That did work. So then he charged at me, tried to fight me. He hit me twice and I laughed because you figure a guy that big would hit you. But no, he then tried to get in his car. We were trying to get him out. He pulled out a knife and I had to go through the windshield because I didn't know if he stabbed me or not, but I got blood everywhere. I think it's fine. (...) He then tried to get away. I was trying to get the keys. That wouldn't work. So that's when I took my baseball bat and I bashed out his front windshield so he couldn't see anywhere if he tried to drive anywhere. And it's really weird that he has two flat tires. You should really get those fixed because they'll tow your car in LA.(...) And did you see him actually stealing mail or...? We have video of him stealing mail. And like I said, everything down from the top of his big bald head all the way to those big size 14 Shrek feet that he had, the exact same person. (...) And the moment when you're like, "You like to steal our mail?" And he goes, "Sorry." It's pretty much in the mission of guilt.
