Ronald McDonald House Families Celebrate California Panda Day at San Diego Zoo
SAN DIEGO — Local families from Ronald McDonald House joined in the festivities at the San Diego Zoo on Friday to mark the anniversary of California Panda Day, commemorating the arrival of pandas Yun Chuan and Xin Bao last year.
The families toured Panda Ridge to see the giant pandas in person and received special 2025 California Panda Day pins. They also met Bamboo, the zoo’s panda costumed character, posed for photos and explored the grounds as part of the celebration.
The first 2,025 guests to Panda Ridge received commemorative pins, while visitors throughout the day enjoyed photo opportunities, character meet-and-greets and other activities honoring the beloved animals.
