AURORA, Colo. — A man was arrested after crashing a stolen scooter and attempting to flee from deputies during a late-night incident, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 11 p.m. Sept. 13, Deputy Wilmer witnessed the crash on East Florida Avenue and approached the rider, identified as 32-year-old Tay Von Argusta. Deputies said Argusta acted erratically and ignored commands before appearing to reach for a handgun lying near the scooter.

When Argusta fled into a nearby apartment complex, deputies pursued him on foot and used a Taser to subdue him. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators later confirmed the scooter had been reported stolen in Denver. Argusta, who already had a felony warrant for fraud, faces multiple charges including motor vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance, obstruction and violation of a protection order. He was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on a no-bond hold.
