This is the dramatic moment a massive landslide tore through Anjihai Grand Canyon in China.
Footage shows debris cascading down the cliffs, sending dust billowing into the air as a section of the canyon gave way in Karamay, Xinjiang.
Large chunks of rock can be seen crashing to the foot of the valley on August 17.
Local media reported that one cow grazing nearby was fatally struck by the disaster, while other bovines managed to escape safely.
Landslides occur when slopes become unstable due to factors such as heavy rainfall, earthquakes, volcanic activity, or human interference, causing soil, rocks, and debris to rapidly slide downhill.
