Enraged elephant attacks car that was parked in its territory
This is the horrifying moment an enraged elephant attacked a car that was parked in its territory in India.
Footage shows the aggressive pachyderm striking a white car that had already tipped over on the roadside in Guwahati, Assam, in a tree-covered area.
Residents were seen trying to stop the tusker by shouting and throwing branches to scare it away.
Locals said the distressed beast had been roaming around the village for several days and appeared to have a leg injury. They claimed it had repeatedly disturbed the neighbourhood.
Despite the encounter, officials confirmed that no one was injured on August 11.
The Indian sub-continent has at least 30,000 wild elephants - more than any other country and approximately 60 per cent of the world's entire Asian elephant population.
