Zafarwal, Pakistan - August 26, 2025 Zafarwal is facing a dangerous flood situation as 40,000 cusecs of water is flowing through Nullah Dek, exceeding its capacity of 30,000–35,000 cusecs, according to the Irrigation Department. The rising waters have washed away sections of the Lahri-Skroor link road, causing major disruptions, while a 50-foot breach has appeared on the main access route. Residents have started evacuating to safer locations following warnings from the district administration. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall continues to lash Zafarwal and nearby areas, worsening the crisis. Locals are also cutting down trees to create makeshift barriers in an attempt to prevent further erosion.
