Students collapsed under the scorching heat during a band competition.

The ensemble in vibrant gold and red uniforms performed in a field amid 32 degrees Celsius weather during the local festival in Cotabato, the Philippines.

Dramatic footage shows schoolchildren from San Vicente National High School at the back of the formation fainting one at a time, prompting medics and cops nearby to rush toward them.

The responders can be seen sprinting mid-song, carrying a stretcher on September 8.

Moments later, a majorette passed out and fell to the ground, causing the worried crowd to scream in shock.

One of the medics immediately approached to carry her to a clinic.

Policemen then sprinted to the opposite side of the field where another performer had collapsed, followed quickly by other students losing consciousness.

The performance was halted at once, and the conductor ordered the band to regroup after every student who had fainted was carried off the field.

Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause heat exhaustion or dehydration, reducing blood flow to the brain. Intense heat may also trigger low blood pressure and heat stress, which can lead to fainting or collapse.
