MALATYA, TÜRKİYE (SEPTEMBER 10: A train driver was slightly injured and taken to the hospital after two freight trains collided in Türkiye’s eastern province of Malatya on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
A freight train operated by a private company traveling westward from Malatya toward Sivas collided with a Turkish State Railways (TCDD) freight train in the rural Hekimhan district of Malatya.
Following reports from locals, medical teams, firefighters, and gendarmerie units were dispatched to the scene.
The injured train driver was transported by ambulance to Hekimhan State Hospital.
Rail traffic in the area was suspended due to the accident.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash.
