A Mexican student studying in China visited the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) and experienced how the development of technology improves people's lives. The CIFTIS 2025, the world's largest comprehensive event of its kind, was held at Beijing's Shougang Park from Sept 10 to 14. This year's CIFTIS has attracted participants from over 70 countries and international organizations, with nearly 2,000 companies planning to exhibit in person, including close to 500 Fortune Global 500 and leading international businesses. Moraima Ordonez, a Mexican student studying at Peking University, visited the venues of CIFTIS 2025 and shared her impression of the event, especially its focus on people. "This year's CIFTIS exhibitors cover a wide range of sectors and showcase the latest cutting-edge technologies in sectors, such as culture and tourism, education, engineering, consulting and construction, telecommunications, computer and information technology, finance, supply chain and business services, and environmental services. With these examples of technological advances, in the service sector, we can understand that the trend is toward achieving new and improved forms of service. It is clear that the main goal is not only to move fast or be accurate, but to put people first," said Ordonez. Ordonez said CIFTIS is a fusion of development, innovation and diversity. "I think the most attractive thing about CIFTIS is that it goes beyond. With more than 100 forums and conferences, CIFTIS is also a knowledge hub, it is incredible to see the convergence between accessibility, development, innovation and diversity with the participation of people from many countries," said the Mexican student. Ordonez also sees the potential of CIFTIS as the most influential platform for trading services in the world. "I must say that attending CIFTIS, I'm truly amazed by the development of technology, and the ways in which its application to the service sector can improve people's lives. The CIFTIS environment reflects international cooperation under a mutual benefit approach and win-win results, which I think makes it truly, truly valuable.
