Stray bull climbs up 60ft high water tank sparking rescue bid
A stray bull climbed a 60ft water tank, prompting villagers to launch a rescue.
Concerned locals spotted the horned beast climbing the towering structure in Rajasthan, India.
Footage shows several men gathering around as the bull ascends the stairs, nearing the top of the tank on September 13.
Police and civil defence teams rushed to the scene after a resident alerted authorities.
Local media reported that attempts to approach the bull were unsuccessful, as it became restless and nearly jumped from the structure.
Officials decided to use a crane, but the operation was postponed when the machine arrived at night.
The bull eventually climbed down on its own and was later seen roaming the streets safely in the morning.
India has hundreds of thousands of cows roaming its streets.
It is party due to devout locals who follow Hindu customs, with cows regarded as sacred animals that cannot be eaten or slaughtered once they have stopped producing milk. The majority of states ban the sale or slaughter of cows.
Instead of dealing with the economic burden of keeping their spent cattle, many farmers let the beasts roam the streets - leading to chaos when the animals become agitated and turn their fury on humans.
