Storyline: Displaced Palestinians are once again on the move, fleeing south from Gaza City as Israel expands its ground offensive. The chaotic evacuation has seen some 350,000 people leaving the city, with many on foot and carrying only a few belongings. The displacement has continued across the northern Gaza Strip, with thousands fleeing bombardment and moving toward the south which is described as relatively safer areas. Israel has announced the opening of a temporary humanitarian corridor to allow residents of Gaza to leave. The passage will remain open for only 48 hours. In a further escalation, an Israeli airstrike struck the top floor of a children's hospital, according to local reports. Residents say living conditions in Gaza are growing increasingly dire as bombardments intensify. The Palestinian death toll in Gaza had risen to 65,062, with 165,697 others injured, since the latest round of the Israel-Hamas conflict erupted on Oct 7, 2023, said Gaza's health authorities on Wednesday. In the past 24 hours, hospitals across the region received 98 victims and 385 injured ones, the authorities said.
