This is the dramatic moment firefighters rescued a man who plunged 15ft into an empty concrete tank in Simi Valley, California.

The worker fell into the under-construction holding tank, sparking a joint emergency response on September 22.

Firefighters and the Urban Search and Rescue team assessed his injuries before lowering a rescue basket to pull the injured man out.

Dramatic footage shows him being winched out of the cavernous tank by a helicopter as his colleagues watched.

Medics said the man was taken to a nearby trauma centre, where he remains in a stable condition.
