According to the man, floodwaters suddenly flooded their village after heavy rains. People only had time to move to higher ground to avoid the flood. From above, they saw their village submerged in water. The floodwaters were up to 3 meters high and they could only see the roofs of their houses. Severe flooding in northern Vietnam has severely affected 5 provinces.
Provinces such as Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen have been heavily affected, with landslides, overflowing rivers, and widespread damage to homes and farmland.
