Helicopter crew rescues pilot and student from crashed plane in Florida Everglades
This is the dramatic moment a helicopter crew rescued a pilot and a student after their plane crashed in Florida.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teams were dispatched following reports of the incident in a remote area of the Everglades, around 20 miles west of Miami Executive Airport.
Air Rescue units combed the vast wetlands and located two individuals who had managed to exit the downed Cessna 172M Skyhawk, operated by Pilot Training Centre LLC.
Due to the rugged terrain and isolation of the site, teams performed a hoist operation to lift the pair to safety.
Footage captures emergency responders carrying out the high-stakes rescue on Tuesday, October 7, at 2:44 pm.
Authorities confirmed that neither sustained injuries. The duo were airlifted back to Miami Executive Airport following the rescue.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway.
