Hero passerby dives into river to rescue driver trapped inside submerged car
This is the dramatic moment a hero passerby dived into a river to rescue a driver trapped inside a submerged car.
Footage shows the retired soldier swimming toward the sinking black sedan in Jiangsu, China.
He climbs on top of the vehicle before smashing the sunroof with a brick on October 14.
Moments later, the rescuer lifts the visibly weak driver out of the four-wheeler to safety.
The car owner is then seen lying still on the vehicle while the rescuer clings to a life ring.
Meanwhile, another bystander inches along the edge of the bridge to assist in retrieving the driver from the water.
The man did not sustain any life-threatening injuries and is now recovering.
