Israeli Defence Force marks boundary with Gaza as ceasefire begins
The Israeli Defence Forces marked the boundary along the Gaza border as a ceasefire began.
Troops have started marking the Yellow Line to establish tactical clarity on the ground on October 20.
As part of the ceasefire agreement and following directives from political leadership, the marking involves placing concrete barriers approximately every 200 metres.
Footage from inside a moving IDF vehicle shows engineering troops using a yellow Caterpillar excavator to position the tall yellow concrete barriers along sandy desert tracks.
Authorities said each barrier is topped with a pole standing 3.5 metres.
Defence Minister Israel Katz said the markers are intended to warn Hamas fighters and Gaza residents that crossing the boundary could prompt a military reaction.
