West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in Wolverhampton.

Officers were called to Lilleshall Crescent, in the Graiseley area of the city, at around 12.15am on Saturday 25 October, to reports of a shooting.

Sadly, the man, aged 30, was pronounced dead a short time later.

Specialist teams were spotted outside the property today conducting a search for evidence and a private ambulance arrived just before 12.30pm to retrieve the victims body from a block of flats on the road.

A large cordon was placed on the entire road and to the rear of the property.

Ch Insp Richard Evans, of Wolverhampton Police, said: ‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s family today, and they will be getting all the support we can give them.

‘We know that this will cause real concern and anxiety for people living nearby, and we will have extra officers in the area to offer reassurance and listen to their concerns.’

It is the second murder in Wolverhampton in 5 days after Navpreet Singh, 26 was fatally injured in a car park off Dudley Road on Tuesday 21st October.
